Hermitage Blanc Domaine des Tourettes AC

White Hermitage from the northern Rhône: a dry Marsanne with substance that combines power and precision.

Delas Frères, the house based in the northern Rhône, produces this cuvée from the Hermitage sites L'Ermite, Le Sabot, and La Tourette. The soils of weathered granite, gneiss, and mica schist shape the character. The grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed, fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, and the wine then matures for nine to twelve months on the fine lees.

In the glass, it shines bright yellow with greenish reflections. On the nose, floral notes meet candied citrus fruits, along with fine vanilla and toasted brioche. On the palate, it is concentrated and multi-layered, carried by distinct minerality and a long finish.

Recommendation: Serve it at 10 to 12 °C, not too cold, so that the aromas can unfold. It pairs well with fried sweetbreads, lobster with beurre blanc, or an aged Comté.

The Domaine

Delas

Maison Delas Frères – the soul of the Rhône Valley. A traditional house since 1835, but 1996 brought the turning point. Fabrice Rosset and oenologist Jacques Grange took over – and made Delas one of the "big four" of the Rhône.

Grange, with Burgundian experience, focuses on elegance instead of pure power. Parcel-by-parcel vinification, uncompromising terroir focus. 32 hectares of their own top sites: Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage. The result: wines with freshness, depth, and character.

In 2019, Delas moved into the new cellar vault in Tain-l'Hermitage – after almost 190 years into the light, where it has long belonged. Rhône as it tastes.
