Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Terrassen

The Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Terrassen from Domäne Wachau comes from hand-selected grapes on the terraced vineyards of the Wachau – those steep, painstakingly cultivated sites above the Danube, whose primary rock soils give the Veltliner its characteristic spiciness.

Harvested late and vinified dry, this wine displays ripe citrus fruit, white pepper, and a hint of herbal spice on the nose – the classic Grüner Veltliner profile at its finest. On the palate, a vibrant acidity combines with a robust body and juicy fruit; the finish is long and spicy. Smaragd – the highest designation of the Wachau – represents precisely this density and depth, which also ensures the wine's excellent aging potential.

Drinking window: now until 2030+. Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs well with Wiener Schnitzel, grilled pike-perch, asparagus with hollandaise sauce or spicy mountain cheese.
