Grappa Vendemmia Riserva 18 months 41% vol. matured in barrique 0.7L

A Riserva grappa from Friuli, aged for 18 months in barrique and bottled at 41% vol. Wood aging gives the pomace distillate structure and rounds off the character. The clear distillate thus becomes a grappa with an amber tone and significantly more depth than a young, untreated pomace brandy.

Nonino Distillatori stands in Friuli-Venezia Giulia for classic discontinuous distillation in copper stills. The aromas of the freshly pressed pomace are preserved because the grapes are processed quickly after pressing. The Vendemmia Riserva shows this signature in an aged variant and combines the fruitiness of the pomace with the spice of the wood.

In the nose, vanilla and honey meet dried fruits and fine wood spices, which continue on the palate. It appears soft and round, with a velvety texture, and ends in a long, balanced finish. Serve it neat at room temperature in a tulip-shaped glass so that the aromas can collect. It pairs well as a digestif after a rich meal, with dark chocolate, or with aged hard cheese.

What was once considered a rustic pomace brandy drink, Nonino has turned into an elegant world-class spirit. The three sisters Cristina, Antonella and Elisabetta continue the legacy of their parents Giannola and Benito today – and were named the best distillery in the world in 2020. A merit that shows in every detail: from the hand-blown Murano bottles to the aged Gran Riserva.
