Grappa Lo Chardonnay Monovitigno aged in barriques 41% vol.

A single-varietal grappa made from Chardonnay pomace, aged in barriques and bottled at 41% vol. Clear in its composition, with wood aging in the background.

Nonino Distillatori distills in Friuli and, with the Monovitigno®, coined the principle of single-varietal grappa: instead of mixed pomace, a single grape variety material enters the still. For the Lo Chardonnay, distillation takes place discontinuously in copper stills, after which the grappa matures for 12 months in barriques.

In the glass, fine notes of bread, vanilla, and pastry appear, contributed by the wood. On the palate, it is elegant and structured, with hints of chocolate and freshly peeled almonds. Let it rest briefly in the glass before the first sip and serve it neat at 16 to 18 °C. This makes it a classic after-dinner drink, for example with dark chocolate or almond cookies.

The three sisters Cristina, Antonella and Elisabetta continue the legacy of their parents Giannola and Benito today – and were named the best distillery in the world in 2020. A merit that shows in every detail: from the hand-blown Murano bottles to the aged Gran Riserva.
