Giunco Vermentino di Sardegna DOC

A Vermentino that shows what Sardinia is capable of: salty, lively, with the island's typical bite.

Mesa is one of Sardinia's most renowned wineries, located in the southwest of the island near Sant'Anna Arresi. Founded in 2004, the winery cultivates indigenous grape varieties, with Vermentino being its flagship white variety. The Giunco (Sardinian for reed) refers to the coastal vegetation that surrounds the vineyards.

In the glass, it displays a pale straw yellow with green reflections. The nose offers lemon blossom, broom, and a hint of white peach, underpinned by a subtle herbal spice. On the palate, it presents fresh acidity, a medium body, and the slightly bitter, almost salty finish typical of Vermentino—a direct reference to the vineyards' proximity to the sea.

Mesa

The Italian winery Mesa was founded in Sardinia in 2005. This young company is located in the Carbonia-Iglesias region, whose terroir is characterized by sandy soils. These soil conditions allow for the cultivation and subsequent production of high-quality wines. On the Mesa estate's vineyards, various grape varieties such as Cannonau, Carigano, Carignan, and Vermentino are cultivated and processed into wines at the winery.
