Gianni Masciarelli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC 1.5L

A classic Montepulciano from the Abruzzo house Masciarelli – accessible, structured, and with the typical depth of the grape variety.

Masciarelli is one of the defining wineries of the Abruzzo. Gianni Masciarelli, who built the house in the 1980s, focused early on the native Montepulciano grape and raised it to a level that made the region internationally known. Today, his widow Marina Cvetic continues to run the winery. The entry-level wine of the same name matures for twelve months in steel tanks – no wood aging that covers the fruit, but a clear view of the grape variety itself.

In the glass, the wine glows in deep ruby red with purple reflections. The nose shows blackberry, violets, and red currant. On the palate, medium body, velvety tannins, and a fresh acid line that keeps the wine lively. The finish is pleasantly long with a slight spice.
