Gianni Masciarelli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC 1.5L

A classic Montepulciano from the Abruzzo winery Masciarelli – approachable, structured and with the typical depth of the grape variety.

Masciarelli is one of the most influential wineries in Abruzzo. Gianni Masciarelli, who founded the estate in the 1980s, focused early on the indigenous Montepulciano grape, elevating it to a level that brought international acclaim to the region. Today, his widow, Marina Cvetic, continues to run the winery. Their eponymous entry-level wine matures for twelve months in stainless steel tanks – no oak aging to mask the fruit, but rather a clear focus on the grape variety itself.

In the glass, the wine shines a deep ruby red with purple reflections. The nose reveals aromas of blackberry, violet, and red currant. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with velvety tannins and a fresh acidity that keeps the wine lively. The finish is pleasantly long with a subtle spiciness.
