Gianni Masciarelli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC

A Montepulciano that shows what Abruzzo red wine can achieve: fresh, structured, and pleasantly uncomplicated in the glass.

Masciarelli is one of the most famous wineries in Abruzzo. Gianni Masciarelli built the estate into one of the leading operations in the region in the 1980s – today his widow, Marina Cvetic, continues the legacy. The grapes for this wine come exclusively from the Cocciapazza vineyard, whose clay-limestone soils provide structure and aromatic depth. Aged in steel tanks for twelve months – this preserves the freshness of the fruit and keeps the tannins supple.

In the glass, a luminous ruby red. On the nose, sour cherry and blackcurrant, plus a hint of violets and tobacco. On the palate, medium body, lively acidity, soft tannins – not a heavyweight, but with real bite and a pleasantly long finish.

Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with pasta all'Amatriciana, grilled lamb, or hearty Pecorino. Also a safe choice as an uncomplicated evening wine without a special occasion.
