Felseneck Riesling *** GG QW Nahe 0.75L

The Felseneck is one of the great single vineyards of the Nahe — a steep porphyry cliff near Schlossböckelheim that gives the Riesling an unmistakable mineral depth. The Prinz Salm winery, rooted in the region for centuries, cultivates this site with the ambition of translating the character of the soil directly into the bottle. The Große Gewächs is the highest quality level of the VDP — vinified dry, site in the foreground.

In the glass, a Riesling appears with a clear structure: aromas of white peach, ripe quince, and a distinct hint of citrus zest. The porphyry slate of the Felseneck site leaves its signature in the finish — salty, mineral, long. The acidity is present but integrated, and gives the wine tension without sharpness.

You best drink it at 10–12 °C — with grilled sea bass with fennel, veal medallions with herb butter, or a mature Munster from Alsace. Those who want to drink it pure will find a wine that continues to grow in the glass.
