Two of the most famous vineyards in Rheinhessen are in this bottle: the Kirchberg and the Scharlachberg near Bingen, both classified as VDP.Große Lage. The Prinz Salm winery cultivates these terroirs with an ambition that radiates far beyond the region — the Salms are among the most traditional winery owners in Germany, and their Rheinhessen wines reflect this.

In the glass, the Riesling shows tangy citrus fruit, a fine spice, and the mineral tension that the slate and loess soil of these sites imparts. The acidity is lively but integrated — not a sharp cut, but a clear line that keeps the finish long and fresh.

It pairs well with fried zander with caper butter, a goat cheese from the Loire, or a classic Wiener Schnitzel with lemon. Serving temperature: 10–12 °C.
