Rotschiefer Riesling dry QW Nahe 0.75L
Three sites, one wine: The Rotschiefer Riesling from the Prinz Salm winery combines grapes from Johannisberg, Steinrossel, and Roxheimer Berg into a dry Nahe Riesling with a clear language of origin. The eponymous red slate shapes the soil of these sites and gives the wine its mineral contour.
The Prinz Salm winery is one of the traditional houses of the Nahe — a region known for Rieslings with pronounced minerality and a lively acid structure. In the glass, the wine shows aromas of white peach, citrus zest, and a hint of flint. The acidity is present but integrated; the finish is dry and characterized by a subtle saltiness that is typical for slate-influenced soil.
Best served at 10–12 °C — it cuts a fine figure with grilled fish, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, or a mild goat cheese. It also works surprisingly well as an accompaniment to Asian dishes with ginger and lime.

The German winery Prinz Salm is now managed in the 32nd generation and is located in Wallhausen in the Nahe region. It was probably founded around the year 1200. The owner of the winery is Michael Prinz zu Salm-Salm and calls 18 ha of vineyards his own. The soils of the vineyards mainly consist of green slate. In addition to the primarily grown grape variety Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Blanc de Noir or even Pinot Noir grapes are also processed into wines at the Prinz Salm winery. The best locations include, for example, the Wallhäuser Johannisberg or the Binger Scharlachberg. Up to 120,000 bottles of wine are produced here annually.
