Donnafugata Lumera Rosato

Sicily in a glass: The Lumera from Donnafugata is a rosé wine that combines the lightness of the Mediterranean with clear fruit and lively freshness.

Donnafugata is one of Sicily's most renowned wineries, cultivating vineyards around Marsala and on Pantelleria. The Rallo family has focused for decades on expressing the essence of Sicilian terroir – Lumera is their most approachable rosé, vinified with meticulous care each year and designed for early enjoyment.

In the glass, it displays a bright pink color with salmon-colored reflections. The nose offers aromas of strawberry, pomegranate, and a hint of rose petal. On the palate, it is fresh and elegant, with a crisp acidity that keeps the wine lively – no heavyness, no oak, a clean finish with a fruity lingering aftertaste.

Serving suggestion: Serve well chilled at 8–10 °C. Pairs well with grilled octopus, prawns with lemon, light goat cheese, or a cold tomato burrata. Also a great choice as an aperitif on the patio. Drink now – Lumera is not meant to be aged.

Donnafugata

Donnafugata – “woman on the run.” The name references the novel “Il Gattopardo” and the story of a queen who found refuge precisely where the vineyards now lie. This is the inspiration for the logo. Giacomo Rallo founded the winery in 1983 with his wife Gabriella. He came from a family with over 160 years of experience in quality winemaking and revolutionized the style of Sicilian wines. Until his death in 2016, he led the winery with vision. Today, José and Antonio Rallo, the fifth generation, manage a team of professionals who share excellence and the Italian way of life with the world – always seeking new challenges.
