Donnafugata Floramundi Cerasuolo di Vittoria Sicilia

Donnafugata Floramundi Cerasuolo di Vittoria Sicilia
Floramundi is Donnafugata's foray into Sicily's only DOCG zone: Cerasuolo di Vittoria in the southeast of the island, where the grape varieties Nero d'Avola and Frappato are required to be vinified together.
Donnafugata, one of Sicily's most renowned wineries since the 1980s, develops Floramundi as a fresh and approachable representative of this origin—lighter than a classic Nero d'Avola, but with more structure than a pure Frappato. In the glass, it shines with a clear ruby red color.
On the nose, raspberry, strawberry, and red currant, with a hint of rose petal and subtle spice. On the palate, it is juicy and medium-bodied, with lively acidity and soft tannins—making it agile and easy to drink.
Serving suggestion: Serve well chilled, 16–17 °C . Pairs well with grilled lamb chops, pasta all'Amatriciana, caponata, or a mature Pecorino Siciliano. Also a good choice as an uncomplicated summer wine on the patio—best enjoyed young.

Donnafugata – “woman on the run.” The name references the novel “Il Gattopardo” and the story of a queen who found refuge precisely where the vineyards now lie. This is the inspiration for the logo. Giacomo Rallo founded the winery in 1983 with his wife Gabriella. He came from a family with over 160 years of experience in quality winemaking and revolutionized the style of Sicilian wines. Until his death in 2016, he led the winery with vision. Today, José and Antonio Rallo, the fifth generation, manage a team of professionals who share excellence and the Italian way of life with the world – always seeking new challenges.
