Conte di Campiano Cabernet Primitivo

Southern Italy meets international class: This cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon and Primitivo combines the structure of a leading French grape variety with the sun-drenched lushness of Apulia.

Conte di Campiano produces its wines in southern Italy – a region known for fully ripe, tannic red wines. The Primitivo grape, genetically identical to California's Zinfandel, contributes depth and dark fruit, while the Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure and length.

In the glass, the wine shines ruby red with violet reflections. The nose offers ripe blackberries and dark cherries, along with a hint of tobacco and leather spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied with soft, well-integrated tannins – not an angular wine, but one that is already enjoyable to drink. The finish is medium-long and slightly spicy.

Serving suggestion: Serve at 16–18 °C. It pairs well with grilled lamb chops, pasta with ragù, eggplant casserole, or medium-aged pecorino cheese. It also makes a great, uncomplicated accompaniment to a hearty midweek dinner. Drink now – no further aging is necessary.

Great

Very pleasant bouquet. In the mouth very gentle and creamy. Great fruits. The best of Cabernet and Primitivo. Very great powerful and at the same time gentle red wine.

Conte di Campiano S.p.A.

Long ago, a count from a distant land rode his fine steed through the Val Tramigna valley and climbed to the plateau of Mount Crocetta. There, he sat on a stone to rest and took in the beautiful landscape below. Daylight caressed the hills, illuminating the silhouette of a castle, the steep roofs of the small, dark houses, the white paths, and the fertile farmland, while a gentle breeze rustled across the still sky. The landscape, the faint scent of must reaching his nose, and the tranquility he felt told him to make this his home. And so it was that from that day forward, the local people called him Count of Campiano...
