Clos Plince Pomerol

Clos Plince Pomerol is a high-quality red wine from the Pomerol region on the right bank of Bordeaux in France, produced for Château Plince by the Château Gombaude-Guillot winery. The blend is predominantly Merlot , complemented by Cabernet Franc and occasionally smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon , which develop a juicy, fleshy structure with silky tannins on the chalky and clay soils of Pomerol.

In the glass, it displays a deep, intense ruby to purplish-red color with a vibrant shimmer. The nose is rich and complex, with aromas of ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, plum, cocoa, a hint of tobacco and cedar, and delicate floral and mineral nuances. On the palate, Clos Plince is concentrated, full-bodied, yet elegant, with fine, well-integrated tannins, crisp acidity, and a long, spicy, rounded finish full of black berries and toasty spice.

The typical alcohol content is around 14% ABV. The wine is ideally served at 16–18°C, slightly decanted. It pairs excellently with beef and lamb, braised dishes, game, or aged cheeses and is suitable for aging for approximately 10–20 years, during which time its bouquet and tannin structure will continue to develop and balance.

Château Gombaude-Guillot

Château Gombaude-Guillot lies in the heart of Pomerol – one of France's smallest and most sought-after wine regions. On the heavy, clay-rich soil that makes this appellation so special, Merlot grapes in particular reach their fullest potential: velvety, deep, and with a unique, almost velvety warmth.

The château has been family-owned for generations and stands for artisanal, natural winemaking that emphasizes the unique character of the terroir – rather than striving for a glossy, polished look. The result is wines with genuine character: complex, honest, and crafted with the calm confidence of someone who knows their craft.
