Château Lacoste-Borie AOC Pauillac 2e vin de GPL
Lacoste-Borie is the second wine of Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste, one of the most reliable Fifth Growths in Pauillac. What that means: the grapes come from the same sites and follow the same philosophy — only that the younger vines and lighter-structured parcels flow into this, which makes the wine accessible earlier without giving up the typical Pauillac character.
Pauillac stands for Cabernet Sauvignon in its most concentrated form: dark fruit, cedar wood, a striking tannin structure, and that characteristic seriousness in the finish. Lacoste-Borie carries all of that — blackberry and blackcurrant in the foreground, behind it graphite and a hint of tobacco. The tannins are grainy and present, the body is full, and the acidity gives the whole thing backbone.
Serving temperature 17–18 °C. Classic accompaniment: rack of lamb with herb crust, entrecôte, or aged Comté. A wine for the table — not for a quick sip in between.

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is one of the oldest and most enduring estates in the Médoc – a classic that truly deserves the title.
Nestled within the renowned Pauillac appellation, these wines bear a distinctive signature year after year: deep color, a delicate aromatic profile of ripe fruit, cassis, spices, and, with age, subtle notes of tobacco and cedar. The tannins are powerful – yet always silky.
François-Xavier Borie embodies a philosophy that harmonizes nature and skill. Patience is not just an empty word: eight to ten years of aging are what truly bring Grand-Puy-Lacoste to its full potential. A wine for those who understand that waiting is part of the enjoyment.
