Castello di Pomino Bianco DOC

When you look from the Valdarno Valley towards the first foothills of the Apennines, your gaze falls on a landscape wooded with firs, chestnuts, and olives. From this idyll rises the stately Castello di Pomino of the Frescobaldi family. It is enthroned on the highest vineyards in Tuscany. The vines thrive at 300 to 750 meters in a fairly cool and windy climate. The high light intensity favors the ripening process and, in particular, the formation of aromatic substances in white grapes, as can be found in the Pomino Bianco.

Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco find ideal conditions in the highest vineyards of Tuscany to produce excellent wines like the Pomino Bianco with a rich fragrance and mineral note. This pure, finesse-rich, and extremely delicate white wine is one of the most famous white wines in Italy. The Pomino Bianco is excellently suited as a white companion to Tuscan cuisine.

The Winery

Frescobaldi

Marchesi de' Frescobaldi is one of the great names in Tuscany – and has been for around 700 years. Today, the family manages nine individual estates, from the cool Apennine slopes of Pomino and Chianti Rufina to the Maremma coast, clearly bringing the characteristics of each terroir into the bottle.

Tiziana, Lamberto, and Diana Frescobaldi lead the house in the 30th generation with the same standards as their ancestors: taking tradition seriously without skimping on development. Since 2012, all estates have held the AgriQualità certification from the Tuscany region; Castello Nipozzano and Castello Pomino were also the first Tuscan wineries with PEFC certification for sustainable forest management.
