Cascina Ferrero Barolo

Cascina Ferrero Barolo
Barolo from Piedmont — that means Nebbiolo on calcareous clay, a long aging period, and a wine that rewards patience. The Cascina Ferrero from Tenuta Carretta perfectly illustrates this side of the "king of wines".
Tenuta Carretta has cultivated vineyards in the Roero and Barolo DOCG regions for generations. The Cascina Ferrero cuvée matures for at least 36 months—24 months in oak barrels and 9 months in the bottle—before leaving the winery. Responsible for the vinification is Mattia Vezzola, five-time award-winning Winemaker of the Year from Food & Travel International (most recently in 2020).
In the glass, it displays a deep garnet red. The nose offers rose petals, licorice, and cocoa, along with subtle spice notes of cinnamon and clove. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, exhibiting the acidity and tannin structure typical of Nebbiolo, and finishing with a long, spicy note.
