Capaia Cabernet Merlot

Capaia Cabernet Merlot
A South African red wine with a Bordeaux-inspired character: structured, approachable, with real aging potential.
Capaia is located in the Philadelphia Valley , north of Cape Town, where cool Atlantic winds slow the ripening process and sharpen the aromas. The winery focuses on classic Bordeaux grape varieties – Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot – and ages the blend in French oak barrels. This barrel aging gives the wine its characteristic depth without overpowering the fruit.
The glass reveals aromas of dark cherries and cassis, along with subtle hints of cedar and a touch of pepper. The palate is full-bodied with soft, ripe tannins – the Merlot provides smoothness, while the Cabernet Sauvignon offers the necessary structure. The finish is long and lingeringly spicy.
