Bourgogne Blanc Château Fuissé
The Bourgogne Blanc from Château Fuissé is the uncomplicated entry into a winery that has been one of the most reliable addresses in the Mâconnais since 1862. No small promise for a regional white wine.
Château Fuissé is located in the heart of Pouilly-Fuissé and has been family-owned for five generations. While the estate's flagship — the Pouilly-Fuissé Tête de Cru — receives international attention, the Bourgogne Blanc shows what the craft achieves at the base level: careful hand-picking, controlled fermentation, short aging in steel tanks and wooden barrels.
In the glass, a light straw yellow. The nose brings green apple, lemon zest and a hint of white blossoms. On the palate, a clear, lively acid structure appears — typical Chardonnay from cooler Burgundy — with a light creamy melt in the finish. Not a heavyweight, but precise and clean.
Serving recommendation: Well chilled at 10–12 °C. Drink now. Goes well with goat cheese, fried seafood or a classic poulet rôti — also a good choice as an uncomplicated aperitif.
