Bollinger PNTX 20 GP

Not a classic vintage Champagne, but a terroir study: PNTX20 stands for Pinot Noir (PN), the Premier Cru village of Tauxières (TX), and the base year 2020. Bollinger builds the cuvée on an unusual ratio – 48% wines from the 2020 harvest, 52% reserve wines.

These reserve wines are what make them special: The 2019 vintage matured in wooden barrels, while the 2008 and 2012 vintages were aged in Bollinger's magnum bottles. This results in a dense aromatic structure with ripe fruit, nuttiness, and the finesse of extended bottle aging.

Tauxières provides the foundation: precise, fresh Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, complemented by wines from Aÿ and Avenay. Pairs well with poultry with jus, scallops, or strong hard cheeses.
