Black Stallion North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon from California's North Coast — that means cooler sea air from the Pacific, which gives the vines longer ripening times and the wines more freshness and structure than the hot vineyards in the Central Valley or inland. It is precisely this climatic characteristic that defines the style of Black Stallion: accessible and velvety, but with enough backbone to hold its own at the table.

Black Stallion is a label of Delicato Family Wines, one of the largest family businesses in California with roots dating back to the 1920s. The winery specializes in wines that bundle the broad character of the North Coast — from Sonoma to Lake County — in a consistently soft, fruit-forward style.

In the glass, black cherry, dried cranberry, and a hint of cedar wood appear on the nose. On the palate, the wine appears concentrated and velvety — ripe cherry and raspberry, underscored by fine spice and a touch of dark berries. The tannins are well-integrated and give the wine structure without harshness. The acidity remains balanced and keeps the equilibrium with the fruit. The finish is pleasantly long, with a slightly spicy, dry note that sets it apart from the pure fruit-bomb style.

At the table, it pairs well with grilled beef steak, lamb chops with rosemary, braised beef shoulder, or an aged cheddar. It also cuts a fine figure with hearty pasta dishes with meat sauce. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C.
