Artezin Zinfandel Mendocino County
Zinfandel from Mendocino County – that's California off the beaten track of Napa. Cooler temperatures, older vines, more structure.
The Hess Collection Winery, under the Artezin label, relies on hand-picked grapes from Mendocino. This region north of San Francisco is known for its older vines and a Zinfandel style that prioritizes depth and length over jammy sweetness.
Deep, dark red in the glass. The nose offers ripe black cherry, blackberry, and a distinct peppery note – typical of Zinfandel from cooler climates. There are also hints of clove and a touch of vanilla from barrel aging. On the palate, velvety tannins, a sweet extract, and a long, spicy finish.
Serving suggestion: Pairs well with venison, duck breast with plum sauce, pulled pork, or a hearty pasta all'Amatriciana. Serving temperature 16–18 °C.

The Hess Collection – for the love of art and wine. The reserved Swiss winemaker Donald Hess unites wineries in Napa Valley, South Africa, Australia, and Argentina under his name. Each boasts its own art collection – the largest in California. Particularly captivating are the vineyards on Mount Veeder, 600 meters above Napa Valley. Volcanic soil and cooling Pacific breezes create ideal conditions for producing top-quality wines. The vinification of the Cabernet Sauvignons in open stainless steel tanks with gentle agitation is unique. This results in fewer tannins and more flavor. Hess takes unconventional paths – all for one thing: quality.
