Today, in addition to the Hess Collection Winery in the Napa Valley, the reserved Swiss man owns Glen Carlou Vineyards in South Africa, Peter Lehmann Wines in Australia, and Bodega Colomé in Argentina.
At each of these locations, there is a winery as well as a publicly accessible art collection. The largest is the Hess Collection in California.
The Hess Collection Chardonnay is an elegant wine with aromas of Asian pears and tangerines. The decisive factors for its outstanding quality are the maritime influence and the soils, which originated from prehistoric seabed.

The Hess Collection – out of love for art and wine. The reserved Swiss Donald Hess unites wineries in Napa Valley, South Africa, Australia, and Argentina under his name. Each with its own art collection – the largest in California.
Particularly exciting: the vineyards on Mount Veeder, 600 meters above the Napa Valley. Volcanic soil, cooling Pacific breeze – ideal for high-class wines.
Unique is the vinification of the Cabernets in open stainless steel tanks with gentle movement. Fewer tannins, more taste. Hess takes unusual paths – for one thing: quality.
