ÀN/ R

The ÀN/R from Ànima Negra is a red wine from the heart of Mallorca – made for all those who are looking for something special and are inspired by the power of an island that has much more to offer than beach and sun.

Ànima Negra – which translates to "black soul" – has stood for uncompromising quality and a deep connection to Mallorcan wine culture for years. The ÀN/R is their more accessible entry into this world: young, vibrant, yet with the unmistakable character of the indigenous Callet grape variety, complemented by Mantonegro and other local varieties. The result is a wine with dark fruit, spicy depth, and a refreshing liveliness that makes it a sophisticated everyday companion.

In the glass, it displays a ruby red color; the nose opens with aromas of ripe cherries, plums, and a hint of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is juicy, with well-integrated tannins and a pleasantly long finish.

Especially recommended for:

  • Grilled lamb or lamb chops with rosemary
  • Mallorcan cuisine – such as Frit mallorquí or Sobrassada
  • Mature cheeses and hearty tapas
  • An uncomplicated evening with good friends

The ÀN/R is a wine that doesn't need a big stage – it simply impresses in the glass.

Ànima Negra

Ànima Negra – “black soul” – has been the conscience of Mallorcan wine since 1994. Childhood friends Pere Obrador and Miquel Àngel Cerdà founded the estate near Felanitx in the southeast of the island, on a property whose walls date back to the 13th century. Their goal was as simple as it was bold: to produce quality wines exclusively from native grape varieties, above all the then-forgotten Callet grape. With their breakthrough with international critics in 1997, the winery proved that Mallorca is more than just a holiday paradise – it is one of the most distinctive wine regions in the Mediterranean.
