Anima Negra AN

Ànima Negra began with the friendship of two Mallorcans: Pere Ignasi Obrador and Miquel Angel Cerda, both from the town of Felanitx in southeastern Mallorca. They have been friends since childhood. In 1994, Pere and Miquel decided to realize a long-held dream and vinify their first own grapes. This marked the beginning of a unique success story; in just a few years, Ànima Negra wines achieved cult status in Mallorca! Today, it seems everyone—Mallorcan, resident, or tourist—knows the Ànima Negra winery, and it feels as if ÀN belongs to the island as much as the cathedral belongs to Palma and the port to Andratx. And not only on the Balearic island, but in more than 45 countries, the name Ànima Negra (meaning "black soul") is synonymous with quality and a strong, distinctive Callet character. The Anima Negra "AN" matures for 17-19 months in new French oak barrels and is similar in character to a Brunello. A brilliant cherry red with garnet highlights, it enchants the nose with a complex bouquet of roasted caraway seeds, tobacco, and black pepper, paired with aromas of dark fruit.
