ÀN Magnum

The ÀN Magnum from Ànima Negra is the flagship of a winery that has put Mallorca on the wine map of Europe — complex, structured, and with real aging potential.

Ànima Negra works in the southeast of Mallorca with the almost forgotten grape variety Callet, supplemented by Mantonegro and international varieties. The winery is considered a pioneer for high-quality red wine on the island and shows what Mallorcan native grape varieties can achieve on old dry-stone terraces.

The ÀN matures for 17 to 19 months in new French barriques — this clearly defines the style: on the nose, roasted caraway seeds, tobacco, and black pepper, underneath a dark fruit layer of blackberry and plum. On the palate, a velvety texture with well-integrated tannins and a long, spicy finish. The comparison with a Brunello is not exaggerated — similar seriousness, similar depth.

Now until 2030+, the magnum size additionally extends the aging development.
Temperature: 17–18 °C, feel free to open an hour before pouring.
Food: Leg of lamb with herbs, wild boar ragout, aged Manchego, or dark bitter chocolate for dessert.
