About the evening

Andalusia is home to one of the most fascinating and traditional wine cultures in the world and the heart of a unique art of barrel aging. In Jerez de la Frontera, where time passes to the rhythm of the solera barrels, wines with a very distinct identity are created. On the snow-white Albariza chalk soils grow vines that form the basis for bone-dry Finos, nutty Olorosos, and velvety Pedro Ximénez sweet wines. This evening, we will take you on a sensory journey to southern Spain and show you why the old Andalusian solera barrels today not only produce world-famous sherries but also refine Caribbean rum and Spanish brandy.

Whether you are a long-time sherry lover or are just discovering this versatile world of enjoyment for yourself: This evening combines Andalusian charm, profound insider knowledge, and first-class enjoyment.

How the evening works

The entire evening will be moderated by the brand ambassadors from Sierra Madre. For the various stages, we will introduce you to the tasted specialties: their origin, the secret of biological and oxidative aging, as well as the special features of the solera system.

There will be plenty of room for your questions at any time – whether about the difference between Fino and Oloroso or how Caribbean rum gets its unique character from Andalusian sherry barrels. You do not need any prior knowledge, just curiosity and a joy for enjoyment. At the end, a small giveaway awaits you.

The drinks

This evening, we will taste a curated selection of Andalusian delicacies from the traditional house Williams & Humbert as well as barrel-aged premium spirits.

The following specialties will be in the glass this evening:

A spectrum awaits you that ranges from bone-dry freshness to a luscious wine icon and complex, barrel-aged spirits.

The menu

The experience is rounded off by sophisticated, freshly prepared finger food. The fine bites are flavor-matched exactly to the aromas of the tasted specialties and make the tasting a perfectly harmonious experience of enjoyment.

Upon request, we also offer a vegetarian finger food option – simply let us know when booking.

Williams & Humbert

Williams & Humbert is one of the great names of Jerez – founded in 1877, it is today one of the most traditional houses in Andalusia. From its extensive bodegas in Jerez de la Frontera come sherries that cover the entire spectrum of the Solera system: from bone-dry Fino to dark, nutty Oloroso. The characteristic combination of Atlantic climate, Albariza chalk soils, and decades of cask aging makes every sip a piece of Jerez history.
