Vinas del Vero Vinas del Vero Sauvignon Blanc
A Sauvignon Blanc from the Pyrenees foothills – where continental warmth meets altitudes of up to 700 meters, resulting in significantly cooler nights than in the rest of Aragón.
Viñas del Vero is among the most renowned wineries in the DO Somontano, one of the few Spanish regions where international varieties like Sauvignon Blanc are truly at home. The winery relies on controlled hand-harvesting and cooling of the grapes immediately after harvesting – crucial for preserving the aromatic freshness of this grape variety.
In the glass, the wine displays classic Sauvignon Blanc aromas: gooseberry, citrus grass, and a hint of white currant. The acidity is present but not aggressive – typical of vineyards where the nights temper the fruit. Medium-bodied, with a short to medium finish.
Serving temperature: 8–10 °C. Best enjoyed young, within the next one to two years. Pairs well with grilled sea bass, garlic and herb prawns, goat cheese, or a crisp lamb's lettuce with citrus dressing.
