Viñas del Vero

The Spanish winery Viñas del Vero was founded in 1986 in the Somanto region and initially owned approximately 550 hectares of vineyards. The company is owned by winemaker José Ferrer, who has been with the business since its inception. Today, the winery boasts over 1,000 hectares of vineyards, primarily composed of sandstone soils with chalk and clay components, and some volcanic soils. The Somanto region enjoys a temperate climate characterized by cold winters and relatively short summers. Average temperatures here are around 11°C. Viñas del Vero also features a state-of-the-art winery with tall stainless steel tanks, whose size and use of gravity eliminate the need for mechanical processes. The winery cultivates grape varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Chardonnay, Garnacha, and Merlot. Viñas del Vero produces approximately five million bottles of wine annually.

Since 1986, Viñas del Vero has been cultivating grapes on sandstone, limestone, and clay soils in Somontano, Aragon, using varieties such as Garnacha, Tempranillo, and Chardonnay. The continental climate, with its cool winters and short summers, shapes the wines' firm structure.
