Viñas del Vero La Miranda de Secastilla Garnacha Tinto
Old Garnacha vines, barren mountain slopes in Somontano — La Miranda de Secastilla shows what this grape variety can achieve in the Aragonese highlands: depth, spice and an unmistakable individuality.
Viñas del Vero is one of the leading wineries in the DO Somontano, located in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The Secastilla winery, from which this wine originates, is a member of the Grandes Pagos de España —an association dedicated to the preservation of indigenous grape varieties and individual vineyard sites. The vines in the Guardia Miranda vineyard are old, deeply rooted, and produce low yields with concentrated fruit potential.
In the glass, the wine displays a dark ruby red color. The nose offers ripe blackberry, pomegranate, and a hint of lavender—typical of Garnacha from cool, high-altitude vineyards. On the palate, it is velvety, with a medium body, soft tannins, and an invigorating spiciness on the finish reminiscent of red pepper and dried herbs.
