Villa Maria Private Am Chardonnay East Coast

Color: bright, shiny golden yellow with greenish reflections.

Nose: fresh, fruit-driven bouquet of juicy pears, ripe peach, and fine notes of citrus blossoms.

Taste: juicy, full-bodied, at the same time powerfully structured and smoothly balanced; the refreshing, aromatic fruit of the bouquet also dominates on the palate, supported by seamlessly integrated oak notes - best enjoyed young!

The fully ripe grapes for the Villa Maria East Coast Chardonnay are crushed and pressed in the winery, the musts are gently clarified by cold sedimentation and then fermented at low temperatures to preserve a maximum of aromatic fruit and freshness. Some batches undergo malolactic fermentation after fermentation, the remaining wine is aged on the fine lees (with regular stirring of the yeast lees) to give the East Coast blend structure and the uniquely smooth fullness on the palate.

The Winery

Villa Maria

The winery Villa Maria was founded in 1961 by George Fistonich and is located in New Zealand. It has two locations, in Auckland and Marlborough, where cellar master Alastair Maling carries out his work.

In the four regions of Auckland, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, and Marlborough lie the vineyards of Villa Maria. For the production of the wines, grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, or Pinot Noir are grown here.
