Saar Riesling QbA dry
Van Volxem's Saar Riesling is a prime example of what the Saar does better than almost any other region: combining taut minerality and ripe fruit in one glass without one overpowering the other.
The Van Volxem winery in Wiltingen is one of the leading wineries in the Saar region. On slate soils, which impart their characteristic geological depth to the wine, the vines grow slowly and with concentration under cool conditions.
In the glass, it displays a rich golden yellow. The nose offers ripe stone fruit—apricot, peach—along with orange peel, pineapple, and a hint of lemon zest. Wild herbs linger in the background. On the palate, it is intense and powerful, with a crisp, perfectly integrated acidity that keeps the wine vibrant. The minerality is almost salty, and the finish is long and fresh.
