Trapiche Malbec

An approachable Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina — purple-red in the glass, with the typical fruit profile of the grape variety and a pleasantly soft mouthfeel.

Trapiche is one of Argentina's oldest and largest wineries, founded in 1883 at the foot of the Andes in Mendoza. The high altitude—sometimes over 900 meters—ensures cool nights that preserve the acidity and aromatics of the grapes. Malbec, originally from southern France, has found its second home in Mendoza and thrives here with particular vigor.

In the glass, it displays a dark ruby red with violet reflections. The nose offers ripe plum, black cherry, and a hint of vanilla—the latter from contact with oak. On the palate, it is soft and rounded, with moderate tannins and a fruit-driven finish. Not a heavyweight, but an uncomplicated, reliable everyday red.

Serving suggestion: Serve slightly chilled at 16–17 °C. Pairs well with grilled beef, pasta with tomato sauce, or a hearty lentil stew. Also enjoyable on its own – perfect for a relaxed weeknight evening.
