Spier Seaward Pinotage

The Spier Seaward Pinotage Coastal Region is a deep red wine with an intense bouquet of black cherry, mulberry, and smoky notes. Aged for 14 months in French and American oak, its bouquet also reveals vanilla and spice notes, which are echoed on the palate by the oak. Indeed, its full complexity unfolds on the palate, revealing its beautiful balance. The finish is pleasantly long and smooth. 3.5 stars from John Platter for the 2017 vintage.

Spier Cellars

The Spier winery looks back on over 300 years of history. Since its founding in 1692 in Stellenbosch, time has been used to gather experience and perfect the wines. Today, Spier wines are among the best in South Africa.

The winery has also committed itself to sustainability today, and the best wine is produced at affordable prices using state-of-the-art technology and know-how in modern buildings. It was not only with the arrival of oenologist Frans Smit in 1995 that the Spier winery committed itself to quality-oriented viticulture.
