Spier Seaward Shiraz

Spier Seaward Shiraz
A Shiraz from the South African Coastal Region that shows how well Atlantic sea influence and warm Cape regions go together: dark fruit, spicy depth, silky smooth texture.
Spier is one of the oldest wineries in the Cape region – founded in 1692, today known for approachable, well-crafted wines from the Coastal Region. The vineyards benefit from the cool sea breezes, which slow down the ripening of the grapes and increase aromatic complexity.
In the glass, the Seaward Shiraz displays a deep ruby red color. The nose offers aromas of plum, mulberry, and violet, complemented by smoky tobacco notes from its 14 months of aging in French and American oak. On the palate, it is full-bodied with silky tannins and a long, smooth finish without any harshness.
Serving suggestion: Pairs well with braised lamb ragout, grilled beef steak, or pulled pork. Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Ready to drink now, but will keep until 2027.
