Lion's Pride Reserve

A full-bodied red wine from Spier Cellars – one of the most renowned wineries in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The Lion's Pride Reserve is characterized by its robust style and pronounced fruitiness.

Spier is one of the oldest wineries in the Cape Winelands, founded in 1692, and has established itself over centuries as a reliable producer in Stellenbosch. The Reserve line showcases the estate's commitment to craftsmanship: ripe grapes and meticulous vinification.

In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red color. The nose offers red forest berries – blackberry, ripe cherry – with a hint of dark spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with firm fruit and ripe, present tannins that provide structure without harshness. The finish is long and spicy.

The Winery

Spier Cellars

The Spier winery looks back on over 300 years of history. Since its founding in 1692 in Stellenbosch, time has been used to gather experience and perfect the wines. Today, Spier wines are among the best in South Africa.

The winery has also committed itself to sustainability today, and the best wine is produced at affordable prices using state-of-the-art technology and know-how in modern buildings. It was not only with the arrival of oenologist Frans Smit in 1995 that the Spier winery committed itself to quality-oriented viticulture.
