Spier Signature Cabernet Sauvignon

Spier Signature Cabernet Sauvignon
An uncomplicated Cabernet from the Western Cape that needs no lengthy explanations: dark fruit, some wood spice, velvety texture – ready to drink and direct.
Spier is one of South Africa's most renowned wineries, located in Stellenbosch, and has been producing a wide range of approachable everyday wines since the 1990s. Their Signature line stands for uncomplicated enjoyment without any waiting.
In the glass, the wine displays a deep violet hue. The nose offers aromas of cassis and black cherry, along with a subtle spiciness from the barrel aging: 20% of the wine matures for 8 to 10 months in French oak barrels, imparting a delicate cedar note and softer tannins. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with rounded tannins and a short, fruity, and warm finish.
Recommendation: Pairs well with hamburgers, grilled lamb chops, or strong hard cheeses. Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Drink now – no aging required.

The Spier winery boasts a history spanning over 300 years. Since its founding in Stellenbosch in 1692, the estate has used this time to gather experience and perfect its wines. Today, Spier wines are among the finest in South Africa. The winery is also committed to sustainability, producing top-quality wines at affordable prices using state-of-the-art technology and expertise in modern facilities. Spier's dedication to quality-oriented winemaking began long before the arrival of oenologist Frans Smit in 1995.
