Siefersheim Höllberg Riesling GG

Siefersheim Höllberg Riesling GG
The Höllberg is one of the most distinctive single vineyards in Rheinhessen – and Wagner-Stempel shows here what Siefersheim can really do: a Riesling with real mountain character, far removed from the soft Rheinhessen cliché.
The Daniel Wagner winery is located in northern Rheinhessen, near the Nahe River. The soils around Siefersheim are among the most mineral-rich in the region: quartzite, red slate, and porphyry characterize the vines, some of which grow on extremely steep slopes. The Höllberg is one such vineyard – a Grosses Gewächs (Grand Cru) that truly deserves its classification.
In the glass, this Riesling reveals itself with a clear structure: aromas of ripe apple, fresh herbs, and a touch of foliage, underpinned by a delicate minerality that unfolds further on the palate. The body is firm yet juicy – with a pronounced creaminess and an extract sweetness that lends the wine depth without making it heavy. The finish offers herbal spice and a hint of biscuit, with the astringency remaining pleasantly integrated.
