Riesling "Wotan-Kalkfels"

The Wotanfels, an eight-meter-high limestone outcrop at the highest point of the Kreuzberg, is a historically significant cult site amidst the Riesling vines, lending a unique aura to this vineyard in the Zellertal valley. The grapes were pre-selected twice, harvested by hand, and spontaneously fermented in stainless steel tanks after eight hours of skin contact. The wine aged on the lees until June before being bottled in early July. The Riesling Wotan-Kalkfels displays a powerful, salty-earthy minerality with pronounced acidity and a long finish, but with age it develops increasingly wild, sometimes exotic fruit aromas.
