A fresh white wine from the Douro Valley that showcases the aromatic diversity of the region's white grape varieties in an accessible, everyday style.

Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo lies in the heart of the Douro Superior, not far from Pinhão. The winery belongs to the Amorim family and is primarily known for its red wines – but the Pomares Branco shows that the Douro has more to offer in the white wine category than one might generally expect.

In the glass, it shines a bright citrus green. The nose opens with nectarine, apricot, and white blossoms – aromatic and inviting. On the palate, it is fresh, with lively acidity and delicate fruit intensity; a light mineral note emerges in the finish.

Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo boasts a history spanning over 250 years, and buildings dating back to its founding still stand. The winery is among the oldest in the Douro region – specifically, in the Cima Corgo sub-region. Here, on the right bank of the Douro River, the vineyards cover 120 hectares, 85 of which are designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ancient vines grow on the typical stone terraces. In 1999, the Amorin family acquired the winery, which has since become the largest family-owned winery in Portugal.
