Muscat from Alsace is one of the most direct encounters with a grape variety you can have in a wine glass: what smells of fresh grapes, orange blossom, and rose in the nose lands just as clearly and authentically on the palate. The Les Princes Abbés from Domaines Schlumberger does exactly that — dry, aromatic, without detours.

Domaines Schlumberger is one of the largest individual owners in Alsace and manages around 140 hectares, a significant portion of which is in steep Grand Cru sites around Guebwiller in the south of Alsace. The "Les Princes Abbés" site refers to the estate's historical connection to the Murbach Abbey — a name that has stood for viticulture in this corner of Alsace for centuries. The soils alternate between granite, sandstone, and limestone, which gives the house's wines a characteristic mineral line.

In the glass, the Muscat shows a light straw yellow. The nose is immediate: fresh grape, orange blossom, a hint of jasmine. On the palate, it is dry and lively, with a clear acid structure that carries the aromatics without overpowering them. The finish is short and fresh, with a slightly spicy note.

Best served well chilled (8–10 °C) — as an aperitif, with asparagus with hollandaise sauce, mild goat cheese, or Asian dishes with lemongrass.
