Riesling Grand Cru Kitterlé AC Alsace Grand Cru 0.75L

Kitterlé is one of the most famous Grands Crus of Alsace—a steep slope with volcanic sandstone terroir that gives Riesling an unusual combination of lightness and depth. Domaines Schlumberger, the largest privately owned winery in Alsace with over 140 hectares under family ownership, has cultivated this vineyard for generations and is one of the few estates that almost exclusively produce Grands Crus in its cellar.

In the glass, this dry Riesling displays the typical Kitterlé style: clear structure, citrus zest, a hint of white peach, and the slightly smoky minerality imparted by the volcanic sandstone. The acidity is present but integrated—not an angular young wine, but a Riesling with poise and aging potential.

Best served at 10–12 °C . Pairs well with Alsatian tarte flambée with crème fraîche, grilled pike-perch, or a mature Munster. Aging it for another two to four years will reward you with added complexity.

Domaines Schlumberger

Domaines Schlumberger, located in Guebwiller in southern Alsace, has been family-owned since 1810 and is one of France's most prestigious wineries. Today, the seventh generation runs the estate: Séverine and Thomas Schlumberger cultivate approximately 140 hectares of vineyards – the largest contiguous AOC vineyard in Alsace, 70 hectares of which are in four Grand Cru sites. On steep slopes with gradients of up to 50 percent, tended by draft horses and supported by over 50 kilometers of stone retaining walls, wines of great depth are produced. Schlumberger uses only its own grapes and consciously produces only half of what the law would permit.
