Michter's US1 Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Michter's US*1 Small Batch Bourbon represents what Kentucky whiskey tradition means: meticulous craftsmanship, small bottling batches, and an aging program that prioritizes patience over profit.

Michter's Distillery in Louisville ages each bourbon for 5 to 8 years in individually charred white oak barrels – deciding on the perfect moment for each barrel. No fixed vintage, no compromises. Their small-batch philosophy means a maximum of just a few dozen barrels per bottling, ensuring consistency and depth of character.

In the glass, the bourbon displays a warm amber color. The nose opens with aromas of caramel, vanilla, and dried apricot, followed by a subtle hint of toasted oak. On the palate, it offers a rounded, slightly creamy texture – the sweetness of brown sugar and stone fruit is balanced by mild spice. The finish is long and warm, with oak and a touch of dark chocolate.

The complexity is best appreciated neat at room temperature. A single ice cube further enhances the fruitiness. As an Old Fashioned with an orange zest, it's a benchmark choice.
