Marqués de Cáceres Reserve
The Marqués de Cáceres Reserva is of a noble structure, evident from its deep, dark color. Profound, complex textures reveal the high quality of this Reserva. Notes of dark fruit, combined with toasty aromas and a subtle hint of oak, create a vibrant, full-bodied, and concentrated flavor on the palate. The vines for this wine are located in Rioja Alta (85%) and Rioja Alavesa (15%) and yield approximately 35 liters per hectare. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, plot by plot. The Atlantic climate is temperate with distinct seasons. The wine is aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, one-third of which are new, one-third two-year-old, and one-third three-year-old. Following aging, the Reserva is further aged for at least two years in the bottle. This red wine has an aging potential of well over 10 years! Wine Spectator: 93 points for the 2012 vintage; James Suckling 2019: 92 points for the 2014 vintage; Mundus Vini 2010: Gold for the 2015 vintage; Guia Proensa 2020: 95 points for the 2015 vintage

Marqués de Cáceres is one of Rioja's most influential wineries – founded in 1970 by Enrique Forner in Cenicero, Rioja Alta, and shaped from the very beginning by the Bordeaux pioneer Émile Peynaud. Forner broke with the conventions of his time: shorter oak aging, French instead of American oak barrels, more fruit in the glass. Since 2007, Cristina Forner has led the family winery as president – and continues this approach with conviction. Today, the winery manages around 1,200 hectares of vineyards and exports its wines to over 130 countries, without losing the style that made it great.
