Marqués de Cáceres Verdejo Rueda Blanco

Verdejo from Rueda does not polarize — it convinces with directness: crisp acidity, aromatic density, no detours.

Marqués de Cáceres is one of Spain's most renowned wineries. Founded in 1970 in Rioja, the winery understood early on that quality begins with the grape. Their white wines from Rueda come from the central Spanish plateau of Castile, where extreme day-night temperature variations intensify the aromatics of the Verdejo grape. Rueda has been Spain's first DO (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) for white wine since 1980—and Verdejo is its flagship wine.

In the glass, the wine displays a pale yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose offers aromas of grapefruit, white peach, a hint of fresh herbs, and the slightly bitter almond note typical of Verdejo. On the palate, it presents lively acidity, a medium body, and a juicy start—the finish is dry with a pleasant bitterness that stimulates salivation.

Marques de Caceres

Marqués de Cáceres is one of Rioja's most influential wineries – founded in 1970 by Enrique Forner in Cenicero, Rioja Alta, and shaped from the very beginning by the Bordeaux pioneer Émile Peynaud. Forner broke with the conventions of his time: shorter oak aging, French instead of American oak barrels, more fruit in the glass. Since 2007, Cristina Forner has led the family winery as president – and continues this approach with conviction. Today, the winery manages around 1,200 hectares of vineyards and exports its wines to over 130 countries, without losing the style that made it great.
