Lugana Ottella Stelvin DOC Veneto

A Lugana with substance: expressive, warm in the mouth, and long in the aftertaste. It is vinified dry and shows what the Turbiana grape (locally also known as Trebbiano di Lugana) can achieve on the southern shore of Lake Garda.

Cantina Ottella vinifies the wine 100% from Turbiana from the vineyards around San Benedetto di Lugana. The vines grow in the double Guyot system, the harvest takes place by hand at the end of September. After gentle whole-bunch pressing and natural sedimentation, the must ferments slowly at 14 to 18 °C. Five months on the fine lees give the wine depth.

In the glass, it shines straw yellow. On the nose, exotic notes meet candied citrus fruits and a fine minerality. On the palate, it appears powerful and persistent without losing its elegance. The screw cap (Stelvin) keeps the fruit fresh and makes the bottle uncomplicated.

Recommendation: serve it at 8 to 10 °C with grilled fish, risotto with vegetables, or monkfish with lemon butter. It also cuts a fine figure as an aperitif on the terrace.
