Lemberger L dry
The official name is "Blaufränkisch," and this old variety most likely originated in the western part of the once vast Frankish Empire. It certainly reached Württemberg via Austria, where Lemberger has long been known. Due to its special characteristics, Lemberger was frequently used for crossbreeding, for example with Zweigelt (St. Laurent x Blaufränkisch). Lemberger can produce both robust, age-worthy wines and interesting sparkling wines with a fruity character.
