Le Morette Serai Rosso Veronese

Le Morette Serai Rosso Veronese
An approachable red wine from the Veneto region that combines the typical lightness of the area with a bit more substance — thanks to a short period of oak aging that adds structure without dominating.
The Le Morette winery is located on the southern shore of Lake Garda, in the Bardolino DOC zone. Valerio Zenato cultivates the vineyards with a focus on local grape varieties. The Serai Rosso Veronese is a cuvée made in the classic Veneto style: The grapes are gently pressed, fermented on the skins with daily pump-overs, and then aged in stainless steel tanks—a portion of which matures for an additional four to six months in used tonneaux.
In the glass, it shines a deep ruby red with violet edges. The nose offers aromas of sour cherry, dark plum, and a hint of blackberry, complemented by a subtle spiciness from the oak. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with soft tannins and fresh acidity—a wine that doesn't polarize, but is undeniably convincing.
