Le Morette Perseo Rosso Veneto IGT

Perseo is the culmination of a long-held vision: to create a full-bodied wine that highlights the strengths of the grapes upon tasting. It is made from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, which, after a brief drying period with skin contact, are fermented for 16-18 days. Cellaring takes place partly in French oak barrels and partly in Slovenian oak barrels, followed by bottle aging. Perseo displays a deep ruby-red color with strong highlights. On the palate, it impresses with an intensely fruity flavor and hints of spice, derived primarily from the grapes and the oak barrel aging. A characteristic feature is its robust structure, which, as with a Ripasso, results from the natural drying of the grapes. It is aged for 16 months, partly in French barriques and partly in Slovenian oak barrels, followed by 6 months of bottle refinement.

Valerio Zenato's Le Morette winery is located on the southern shore of Lake Garda, on the narrow strip of land leading to Lake Frassino. The region's unique soil characteristics were formed after the last Ice Age, approximately 10,000 years ago, by the glacial movement of Lake Garda, resulting in a high clay and salt content. This creates an exceptional microclimate, particularly well-suited to grape and olive cultivation. The result is a range of first-class, varietal wines that rank among the best in the Lake Garda region.
