Lagoalva Reserve

Lagoalva Reserve
A classic Portuguese Reserva that showcases the strengths of the Tejo region in concentrated form: dark fruit, structure and length.
Quinta da Lagoalva lies in the heart of the Tagus region, where the winery has cultivated the indigenous grape varieties Castelão, Touriga Nacional, and Trincadeira for generations. The clay and limestone soils retain moisture and slow the ripening process, giving the grapes more time to develop aromas before harvesting begins.
In the glass, the wine shines a rich garnet red. The nose reveals ripe blackberry, black plum, and a hint of clove, underpinned by vanilla from the oak aging. On the palate, it is full-bodied without feeling heavy—the tannins are present but well-integrated, and the finish lingers with a light spicy note.
Serving temperature: 16–18 °C . Pairs well with braised lamb loin, venison stew, or a mature Manchego cheese. It also goes well with roast chicken with herbs. Ready to drink now, but will easily keep for another two to three years.

Opposite the southern bank of the Tagus, not far from the Portuguese town of Alpiarça, lies the Quinta da Lagoalva – a winery with a history dating back to the 19th century. The winery was certified as a wine producer as early as 1888. This spirit of tradition and passion characterizes the wines to this day.
The landscape around the Quinta is of unique nature: wetlands, wide fields, the calm river. All this is reflected in wines that combine depth and elegance with Portuguese originality – from powerful red wines to fine sparkling wines of the top line Dona Isabel Juliana.
